Who We Are - Emerson Primary
We are nurturing the minds of young learners, preparing them for future success.
We are proud of our many curriculum offerings, as well as the great accomplishments of our students. The success of our students is a reflection of the quality of education our staff continues to provide. Our teachers’ continued efforts to embrace and implement new programs and state mandates are the reason why our district is able to make progress. The district looks to the future as it embraces the ever-changing landscape of education and as well as maintaining financial stability, strong leadership, and quality education.
Emerson Primary is one of two primary schools in the Sidney City School district serving students in grades K-2.
Emerson has five grade-level teachers for each grade as well as interventionists, music and art teachers, a dedicated speech and language pathologist, occupational and physical therapists, and a dedicated school counselor.
Students participate in a specials schedule that allows them the opportunity to learn more in the areas of art, music, library, physical education, and counseling/social-emotional learning.
I look forward to partnering with you as we inspire, empower, and prepare our students for their best future!
Greetings and welcome to Emerson Primary School, the home of the Little Jackets! I am thrilled that you have decided to view our school’s website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff, and programs we have to offer. Emerson Primary has a reputation for excellence and we will continue to strive to become the best that we can be. We are about to embark upon a new school year with great enthusiasm and anticipation of new opportunities that will enhance our instructional program and school community as a whole.
I am a native of Shelby County, having graduated from Anna High School. This begins my 4th year at Emerson Primary and 30th year in education, and I am still as excited about my career choice today as I was all those years ago! I currently reside in Darke County with my husband, Joe, and our two daughters who are 14- and 16-years-old.
We encourage you to visit our beautiful school and see how we are a school committed to children. You will find that this is a vibrant and engaging community of teachers and learners.
To our parents, we believe that your involvement is an essential component to the academic success of your child. I encourage you to visit our website often, follow us on social media, meet your child’s teacher, and get engaged in all that Emerson has to offer. Your participation in our school is needed and greatly appreciated!
